The Community Waterways Advisor role is to collaborate, network and facilitate engagement with community groups, educational providers, central and local government agencies, industry and businesses to get them involved in the partnership. Will also collaborate with Three Waters specialist to create awareness on Te Mana o Te Wai implementation and water safety. This role will see you deliver the Healthy River Schools Engagement and Take Action Programme based on the Collaborative Community Education Model which helps local communities identify their unique conversation opportunity and work together to restore, protect and grow it in a student led kaupapa.

This is a pivotal role in our Three Waters team which you will create and foster partnerships and will be educating and raising awareness about Te Mana o Te Wai implementation. You will work closely with our Community Governance team and will organise workshops which will create framework, ascertain long term visions and help the Council obtain an understanding of the Stormwater Management plan implementation work. You will facilitate initiatives and build and develop relationships with community groups and businesses and will be an active guardian of waterways. Alongside this you will also manage and Deliver the School Engagement and Take Action Programme - here you will provide specialist advice and best practice partnering with schools and organisations to promote and enable conservation interest.

With a relevant degree you'll also have a proven background in an educational facility and will have a sound understanding of "youth led" programmes.
