We're looking for a Senior Communications Advisor to join our busy Communications and Engagement Unit.

**About the position**:
Reporting to, and working closely with, the Manager Strategic Communications the role of Senior Communications Advisor takes responsibility for:

- Developing effective strategies to reach and communicate with Christchurch's diverse communities.
- Delivery of communications plans and providing expert communications advice and support.
- Working alongside business groups from across the organisation to help keep residents, key stakeholders and staff informed and engaged about Council's activities, services and decision making.
- Managing multiple channels - these are the ways we reach our residents.
- Writing content and repurposing for diverse audiences.

**Our ideal applicant will**:

- Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant area, with proven communications and/or media experience.
- Be an excellent writer, with good attention to detail and the ability to turn technical information into easy-to-read content.
- Be an outstanding communicator with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines, in a large, complex environment.
- Have a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Have a growth-mindset.
- Be a self-starter - able to independently manage a portfolio of work.
