**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

These newly created positions will be focussed on:

- being the primary HR lead for the designated business group and to align, initiate and action People and Communications activities with the overall business objectives and HR policy and processes
- partnering with key stakeholders, understanding and actioning the unique needs and challenges of each business unit and develop tailored HR solutions and initiatives to address them effectively
- providing leadership to the team of HR Business Partners
- plan, direct and coordinate the provision of human resource partnering and management advice and activity across the group that ensures the strategic use of human resources is maximised
- foster a positive work culture and enhance organisational effectiveness through people and solution centric practices
- oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and talent management processes within the business units
- collaborate with the Directors and People Partnering Leads for the Hospital and Specialist Services to ensure consistency of policy and initiatives and to drive the implementation of development initiatives
- deliver key HR projects aligned with the organisation's human resource strategies and plans
- represent the HR function in appropriate management team forums; and
- role model effective HR practices and technical practices

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**

The key skills and experience we are looking for include (but not limited to):

- Several years' experience (expected to be in the range of 5 to 10 years) working in a related function (Senior HR Practitioner) with practical knowledge of employment legislation, employment relations and or industrial relations experience.
- Proven experience in managing relationships and developing and maintaining personal credibility with stakeholders. Experienced in union engagement.
- Experience leading professionals, preferably in the health sector or Government Services.
- Ability to speak Māori or a Pacific language will be advantageous
- An organisational development background is desirable. (This is a key requirement for our NPHS, SI&I and Commissioning business units)
- Remuneration/Job evaluation experience desirable
- Experience in a complex and or unionised environment desirable
- Strategic HR experience with the ability to manage projects from inception to completion desirable.
