**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

This role is the leader of workforce intelligence and insights for the health sector and will be an expert of international repute who is leading a team delivering best-in-class insights from the best-in-class tools and resources. The incumbent will bring a business understanding and perspective to work in partnership with other functions in the People and Communications team, the wider organisation and its partners and stakeholder.
- Works across the health sector to collect data and analysis for Te Whatu Ora and for partners and stakeholders, particularly those data is collected from. The leader will be a respected expert in this field and a deep knowledge of health
- Is a team management role and leads a multidisciplinary team providing modelling, analysis, and evaluation work to support the workforce programmes of work, Te Whatu Ora's strategic direction and goals and to support Te Whatu Ora's partners and stakeholders in understanding in the helath workforce

***Mōu | About you**

You will lead the collection of robust data and analysis, to provide insightful reporting to support workforce development, and reports on current state and make strategic directions about workforce programmes and budget. Provide leadership that engages and motivates others to succeed and develop, and proactively shares experiences, knowledge, and ideas. Develope strategies, work programmes and performance targets for the team. Manage constructive working relationships with work colleagues and external stakeholders to enhance understanding and cooperation needed to achieve desired results.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**

***Substantial years' experience in reporting, analysis, intelligence (in the range of 10+ years).
- An in-depth knowledge of workforce research, evaluation and analytical disciplines and processes, including latest developments in techniques and practices and reporting tools and software expertise
- Demonstrates experience in influencing policy makers and other stakeholders using a relationship approach.
- A proven track record in leading large work programmes, considering both strategic and short-term needs.
- An in-depth knowledge of the New Zealand health system, workforce labour market and key indicators and measures.
- An understanding of government structures, processes, planning and reporting requirements.
- A strategic outlook with the intellectual capability to analyse large, complex issues and readily grasp and synthesise the data and provide insights.
- Experience leading leaders and other senior staff, including building capability, lifting performance of a team/unit, and creating a team culture in which people proactively try new approaches, learn, and develop and find ways to continuously improve in their area of expertise.
- Experience developing and implementing effective group/team strategies and work plans that deliver on organisational objectives.
- Can demonstrate they have given meaningful effect to the expectations outlined in Te Tiriti o Waitangi in their position(s)/at a leadership level. Previous responsibility at a leadership level for developing, maintaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific Peoples and groups.
