We have an exciting opportunity for an accomplished and results driven Assistant Technical Manager - Pulp & Paper to join the team. The role is based at Oji Fibre Solutions - Kinleith Mill, located in Tokoroa in Waikato Region. This role is permanent, full-time (40 hours per week; Mondays to Fridays), and the salary range is $70,000 - $81,000 per annum.

**Reporting to the General Manager - Group Management Coordination Office (GMCO), the primary function is**:

- Maximizing the effective manufacture of product with knowledge of production processes, Kaizen techniques, budgeting processes, cost management, and other techniques
- Supporting mill engineering team in planning and developing of capital projects of pulp & paper plant
- Advising mill process engineers on cost reduction of pulp & paper plant
- Leading effective exchange of technical information between Oji Fibre Solutions (OjiFS) and Oji Headquarters (Oji HQ)
- Business trips to Tasman Mill (located in Fletcher Avenue, Kawerau in the Bay of Plenty region) and Penrose Mill (located in Auckland) are required

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- A minimum 3 years of experience in process engineering and project planning/management as applicable to the Pulp & Paper Manufacturing industry
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Native-level proficiency in Japanese - strong written and verbal communication skills are required for effective reporting to the parent company (Oji HQ).
- Willingness and ability to work as a member of an international Team.
