**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our regional team as **Manager Plannng Policy and Performance.**

The primary organisational impact of this position is to lead the operational and people management within the Planning, Policy and Performance team and across the region to drive an organisational culture that supports delivery of the strategic and operational plans, policy development and performance reporting, meeting the NPHS and Te Whatu Ora performance expectations and supporting our engagement across the health system and sectors

This permanent, full-time role will see you providing leadership of the team responsible for NPHS regional strategic and business planning engaging across the regional service, wider NPHS and Te Whatu Ora regional planning infrastructure; regional coordination, capability building and innovation in delivering excellent policy advice, submissions and health equity in all policies approaches; and performance reporting for the regional service.

**Mōu | About you**

You will be a strong leader and manager with experience in health planning, policy development, performance reporting, machinery of government, cross-sector working and effective influence. You are able to lead change, innovation, capability development and quality improvement across a service and use sound judgement to develop options and provide advice. You identify opportunities to address equity and diversity in planning, advice and reporting and You are comfortable with change and quick turn around times.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Has a minimum of 3 years' experience in health planning, policy development and performance reporting
- A Bachelors qualification or equivalent experience and experience in machinery of government
- Experience in leading change, innovation and service and quality improvement initiatives
- Experience in matrix and multidisciplinary working models
- Experience in working with iwi/ hapū and Māori communities
- Understanding and experience working in partnerships with Pacific communities
- Extensive business and people management experience for managing a significant division of the organisation
- Demonstrated mature communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present in a clear, persuasive, and impactful way, to influence others to embrace change, and to develop, unify and maintain strong internal and external relationships essential for achieving sustainable outcomes
