The Commission is going through an exciting period of growth, driven by increases in its functions, duties and powers. We are looking for a passionate leader with skills in organisation wide planning and performance to lead our Planning and Performance team. Based in our either Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) office or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.

Mō te tūranga | About the role
This is a busy and varied role where you will lead and manage the delivery of the Commission's planning and performance processes. The work you and your team do is critical to the Commission as it supports our strategic and operational decision-making and ensures we continue to improve our performance.

Reporting to the Strategy, Policy and Performance Manager, you will work together to deliver a performance framework which identifies and reports the key performance measures that the Commission uses to monitor its organisational performance against its strategic objectives and vision.

You will also work closely with the wider Strategy, Policy and Performance team on strategy, business planning and accountability documents such as our Annual Report and Statement of Intent. This requires building strong collaborative relationships across all branches particularly with the Finance team, Governance Manager, and Engagement and Operations Manager.

You'll be a true leader with the ability to mentor, guide and develop your team of advisers and foster a strong service culture.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- experience in developing and enhancing accountability frameworks, processes, performance measurement and reporting
- experience working in performance analysis and/ or management consulting
- outstanding people leadership capabilities
- excellent internal and external relationship management skills

Used to leading and managing projects, you'll be proactive and solutions-focused and be able to think, write and communicate clearly. You will be inquisitive with sound critical thinking skills and be comfortable presenting to stakeholders at all levels.
