**Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the Role**:
As the Principal Advisor, you will provide strategic, operational, technical and analytical leadership and advice across the Commissioning, Design and Delivery business unit and Whaikaha.
Working closely with the Deputy Chief Executive, Director and the wider team across Commissioning, Design and Delivery, you will support the strategic direction of the team, strategic business planning activities, analysis and capability building.
You will provide senior technical expertise and advice to inform future decision-making for work programmes that best support the delivery of the Government's and the Ministry's priorities and objectives.
You will build and maintain collaborative and positive relationships across the Ministry and the Commissioning, Design, and Delivery business unit, and other key stakeholders as required.
This is a 12-month fixed term role.

**Ko wai koe | About You**:
You will be an experienced Principal Advisor who has provided technical leadership and trusted advice to senior leaders and colleagues.
You will have a deep knowledge and understanding of disability issues in Aotearoa New Zealand. This will be paired with a strong background in the health and disability support services and commissioning environment.
You will be able to think on your feet and pivot and respond to changing priorities. You will have a strong background in New Zealand Government.
You have the ability to build strong and effective relationships and external networks with relevant organisations.
You will have well-developed critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to write well and provide robust advice and recommendations to diverse audiences.
To undertake this role successfully, you will be a disabled person or be able to establish credibility and trust with the disability community, as well as having empathy and an understanding of the unique and diverse experiences of disabled people.

**Salary range**: $134,852 - $199,786
