Who we are
Kāwai ki te Iwi, Service Delivery and Operations (SDO) is one of DIA's most public facing branches, providing customers with a wide variety of services, products and advice with a genuine commitment to the Māori Crown partnership. The branch also includes a large programme that aims to make it easier for customers to use identity and life event services like passports, citizenship, births, deaths and marriages online, connect with government and have more control over their information.
The Te Waka Aukaha, Planning Design and Assurance business group delivers high quality specialist support on behalf of the Deputy Chief Executive and provides a range of integrated services to senior leaders across the Service Delivery and Operations branch, in the areas of investment and business planning, governance, design, business intelligence and insights, organisational development, change management, risk and assurance and our Pasifika strategy.
About the role
As a member of the Te Waka Aukaha Leadership Team the Manager Planning, Governance and Support works collaboratively with colleagues in the branch and relevant centralised business groups to provide strategic advice and support to the Service Delivery and Operations Leadership Team, with direct accountability for branch business planning, machinery of government accountability processes, and governance. Leading a small team of dedicated specialists, the Manager Planning Governance and Support works closely with the General Manager and Principal Advisor Investment Planning to ensure alignment and integration.

**The successful applicant will have**:

- Proven experience leading business planning processes in a large and complex organisation
- Understanding of public sector management frameworks, relevant legislation and reporting requirements
- Experience leading a high performing team and gaining commitment to continuous improvement
- A history of achievement in delivering trusted support, services and advice to senior leaders
- Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate credibly verbally and in writing and influence and engage senior stakeholders to achieve outcomes
