Our Regulatory Compliance Unit is responsible for ensuring our residents and businesses comply with a range of laws and regulations designed to achieve the best possible outcomes for the community and the environment. The Principal Advisor Noise Control will provide advice to peers and the community on compliance with the District Plan rules as they relate to Noise to ensure that our City remains enjoyable and safe.

**About the role**:
You will be the go-to person on noise matters, working closely with our Manager of Strategic Compliance, Team Leader Food Safety and Environmental Health, and Environmental Health Officers by providing advice, guidance, and assistance in appropriate decision making when it comes to compliance action. You will also:

- Carry out compliance/enforcement/licensing investigations.
- Support the team by attending site visits when investigating complex or contentious matters.
- Stay on top of developments in legislation, policies, and guidelines for emerging or existing trends associated with noise matters and report on these to the Team Leader.
- Raise awareness of, and provide a Council-wide, key point of contact service for managing noise environmental effects at large scale events.

**About you**:
You will be passionate about noise control, achieving compliance, and supporting your team to continually improve their own knowledge and skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret legislation are must haves when it comes to this influential role.

If you have some of the experience below, we want to hear from you.
- 5 years of experience supporting and advising people in an investigation/compliance environment, and
- Minimum of Environmental Health, or Planning Degree, or any other relevant qualification
