The Food Safety and Environmental Health team combines all of our Environmental Health Officers into one team of like-minded professionals who are responsible for managing and monitoring various aspects of public health.

The teams' activities include investigation and assessment of contaminated land, providing public health input into building and resource consents, noise control management, hazardous substances duties to protect public safety, completing food safety verifications as well as undertaking compliance investigations under the Food Act and the inspection/monitoring/abatement of environmental health nuisances.

In the team there are three Senior Environmental Health Officer roles, split into specialised portfolio areas.

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join our team, specialising in the areas of Resource and Building Consent advice, Contaminated Land and Housing.

You will need to have strong organisational skills, be able to work with autonomy, enjoy working collaboratively with others and thrive on developing strong relationships with our customers and partner agencies.
