**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG) enhances the health and disability system by leading health investments through planning, prioritising, delivering, and monitoring health infrastructure projects.

The IIG manages this responsibility through several functions, including asset management, investment planning, facility design, programme and project management, facility planning, and monitoring and assurance.

The IIG is looking for a Principal Advisor who understands the unique challenges of delivering high quality, succinct and consistent advice to wider Health NZ including IIG, project teams and other key stakeholders, and, ensuring that IIG reporting is consistent, timely and of a high quality - this includes reporting to the Group Manager National Health Facility Planning.

**Mōu | About you**

You will lead programmes of work within Health NZ's Health Facility Planning team to assess, advice and develop briefing requirements to support health facility planning.

You will assess and advise on the functional requirements of facilities to support clinical service delivery and related health planning artefacts.

You will work to develop, and or, review briefing requirements, for health infrastructure including functional design briefing and schedules of accommodation.

You will provide assurance on health facility planning artefacts.

You will have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and have the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

You will be agile, analytical, and able to deal with complexity, and be willing to share your knowledge and expertise to support the growth of the team.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**

Required:

- Tertiary level qualification in a relevant area and/or appropriate experience
- Experience in leading health planning for facilities
- In-depth understanding of health facility requirements including the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines
- Knowledge of clinical service planning practice and understanding or experience in clinical service delivery
- In depth understanding of functional requirements for health facilities and implications for design
- Stakeholder engagement experience and the ability to engage in strategic discussions about the health system and the reforms
- An understanding of the infrastructure life cycle and IIG infrastructure planning framework
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with people at all levels within the public and private sectors, related industry and community interest groups

- Demonstrate a strong drive to deliver and take personal responsibility
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with an ability to deal with ambiguity in a calm manner
- Strong time management, with experience in prioritising work and tracking workflow
