Auckland Council’s Local Board Services has an opportunity for a full time Engagement Advisor to join the team. This role will report directly to Local Area Manager. In this role, you will be predominantly based in the city centre and Meadowbank supporting the Ōrākei and Waitematā Local Board’s.

You will have the opportunity to work flexibly from home or other Auckland Council work hubs.

The two local boards work within very diverse and dynamic communities. This role advises local board members and colleagues from the wider council organisation on best practice engagement. Engagement Advisors provide insights into local priorities and concerns, while also bringing localism to regional issues and consultations.

This is a critical role for improving the overall participation; particularly from those we hear from less frequently i.e. Māori, Pasifika, Asian, and Youth.

You could expect to:

- Provide strategic advice and support the use of feedback to develop initiatives
- Engage with communities to support various work-programmes & strategies.
- Establish & maintain the delivery of the three-year engagement strategy

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

To be successful in this role you will have experience implementing engagement strategies and working collaboratively across a large, complex organisation.

This role works closely with communication advisors to interpret and collate feedback from our communities; we are looking for someone with experience producing high-quality written communications.

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

- Tertiary qualification such as public policy, community development, humanities, communication
- Strong background in governance or a related field
