At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.

**Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role**
In this administrative role you will be responsible for providing day-to-day operational, financial and administrative support to the Ngā Iti Kahurangi programme team.

**Mō tēnei tūranga | About the programme**
Ngā Iti Kahurangi is a programme delivering a defined set of building improvements helping the Ministry achieve its 2030 goal for quality of learning environments. There are approximately 750 small or remote schools in the programme. The way the programme is structured means there are 1,500 discrete projects (two at each school) that need to be completed by June 2026. This is a significant logístical challenge and requires a close working relationship with three external project management companies, five product suppliers and a freight & logistics company.

You will be someone who has great initiative and a friendly, positive can-do attitude is a must. Your flair for organisation sees you keeping dependable records of progress, approvals and other relevant documentation.
You will also demonstrate:
- Previous experience providing administrative/ coordination support to a busy team.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines effectively.
- Advanced skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- A track record of working effectively as a self-directed and proactive team player
- Agility in your working style
- Knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

Our group leads inclusive, accessible and integrated infrastructure, digital and transport services to the education system. We are one of several pou of the Te Whare o te Mātauranga that work together to support Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga as a whole.
Each year, Te Pou Hanganga, Matihiko removes barriers to education by investing nearly $2 billion in the education system. Our group creates physical and digital learning environments that are critical for quality teaching and learning.
