**Mō te tūranga | About the role**
- Line management responsibility for a P&C Coordinator that supports the wider team.
- Work alongside and support a diverse portfolio (or ‘directorate’) of highly skilled people in interesting areas. This includes WRC scientists, transport planners, economists, and environmental officers.
- Provide management support to directorate leaders, including developing & implementing people plans, coaching, and building capability while also achieving corporate People objectives.
- Partner with managers through provision of broad productivity guidance, relevant development strategies, analysis of trends and metrics, resolution of complex employee relations issues, and development of strong and trusted working relationships.
- Conduct investigations and dispute resolution, including serious misconduct or interpersonal conflicts, and representing WRC at Mediation, ERA, or Court.
- Ensure legislative compliance in employment law while minimising bureaucracy and supporting organisational efficiency.
- Champion HR Policy and Procedure development, refinement, and delivery.

**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
- Tertiary Qualification in HR or related degree.
- Applied experience in generalist human resource management at a business partner level.
- As a guide, 8 - 10 years’ experience in human resources/organisational development and/or learning and development roles.

We use the below, and it would be great for you to have experience with:

- Local government, or a similar environment.
- Human Synergistics certification/coaching certification, or similar.
- Strategic Pay Job Evaluation certified, or similar.

- Reporting directly to the HR Manager, you will also be responsible for a P&C coordinator and work alongside the L&D Lead, HR Business Partner, Systems & Reporting Advisor, and HR Advisor.
- From the wider P&C section, you will also interact regularly with the Health & Safety team.
- You will be aligned with 3 different portfolios/directorates at WRC. These include the Integrated Catchment Management, Regional Transport Connections, and Science Policy & Information directorates. You will also be a valued part of the Senior Leadership Team for each directorate.
