At the highest level, what we do at Te Tai Ōhanga - The Treasury is pretty simple. We're creating a better future for New Zealand and everyone who calls our amazing country home. We're the Government's economic and financial advisor, working hard to raise the standard of living for everyone in Aotearoa, now and in the future.

This role provides a unique opportunity to provide thought leadership and shape the commercial and financial advice that is provided to the Government. The role will sit within the Treasury's Financing, Infrastructure and Urban Development directorate which is responsible for a range of activities including:

- Providing policy advice on Crown funding and financing arrangements and the Crown balance sheet;

- Providing strategic thinking on policy or structural opportunities to strengthen how infrastructure investments are prioritised, planned, decided, funded and delivered
- Providing thought leadership on the management of the Crown balance sheet, including commercial and financial risks and opportunities
- Supporting and mentoring other members of the NRP team and Directorate to enhance capability and capacity
