This role provides a unique opportunity to provide thought leadership and shape the commercial and financial advice that is provided to the Government. The role will sit within the Treasury's Financing, Infrastructure and Urban Development directorate which is responsible for a range of activities including:

- Providing policy advice on Crown funding and financing arrangements and the Crown balance sheet;
- Improving infrastructure and housing outcomes for New Zealand through Vote and broader sectoral advice; and
- Implementing the National Resilience Plan to deliver strategic investments into critical infrastructure that are more resilient to climate and population changes, and which supports the Infrastructure Action Plan.

**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role**

This role will support the team implementing the National Resilience Plan (NRP), while also offering opportunities for strategic advice on how to improve more resilient infrastructure outcomes and how to better manage the Crown's balance sheet.

This role will involve:

- Enabling the delivery of the NRP, ranging from engagement with agencies, iwi and local authorities, to moderating NRP submissions and leading advice to support Ministers' decisions on resilient infrastructure investments
- Providing strategic thinking on policy or structural opportunities to strengthen how infrastructure investments are prioritised, planned, decided, funded and delivered
- Providing thought leadership on the management of the Crown balance sheet, including commercial and financial risks and opportunities
- Supporting and mentoring other members of the NRP team and Directorate to enhance capability and capacity

- Strong commercial, financial or economic skills, and preferably policy, advisory or leadership experience in the infrastructure sector
- Highly-developed communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate and have influence across a range of senior level stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Excellent written communication skills including the ability to convey information, ideas and analysis with clarity
- Experience leading people, complex projects or policy processes, and a demonstrated ability in supporting, mentoring and developing others
- A strong commitment to achieving high standards and excellent results
