In the Building Consenting Unit we are putting safety first and ensuring that the buildings in this City are up to code and fit for our future.

**About the role**:
As a Building Warrant of Fitness Officer, your primary focus will be on auditing and ensuring compliance with all building consent authority and territorial authorities policies and procedures. Your role will involve working with customers towards compliance solutions with a strong emphasis on knowledge and implementation of specified systems to ensure the highest level of safety and adherence to statutory timeframes.

**About you**:
To excel in this role you will ideally have:

- Either currently working towards, or already having, a qualification recognised as being suitable for building officials (more information in the position description)
- Current full drivers licence
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar role in a Building Compliance environment in a Building Consent Authority, Territorial Authority, or IQP in New Zealand
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills which also display an ability to share relevant info, and an ability to clarify with questioning skills.
- In order to perform at your best, you'll be technologically savvy with experience in WorkSmart, and Connect/SAP/TRIM knowledge would be advantageous.
