Auckland Council is looking for a Lead Advisor to manage Auckland Council’s annual business planning processes. Support the delivery of an improved way of operating to enable council’s transformation. Ensure that our planning process runs smoothly, with excellent communication to our business areas about requirements and ongoing improvements in the quality of plans.

Help strengthen the links between our business planning and the Annual Plan/Long Term plan process that our organisation delivers for Aucklanders.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

This role requires extensive experience in similar strategic performance/planning roles, ideally from within large organisations, local or central government, or consultancy.

We are looking for someone with a strong strategic mindset who can link strategy with business outcomes, and can create effective processes that support delivery of strategy.

As you will be expected to work across a range of issues, you would need to have expansive interests, be able to quickly grasp unfamiliar topics, and easily draw connections between seemingly disparate ideas.

Your interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively negotiate and quickly build strong working relationships across the organisation.

Your other specialist skills include:

- a robust understanding of organisational design
- the ability to clearly communicate requirements, and to hold people to account on performance
- excellent problem-solving
- persuasive oral communication
- clear and concise writing
- strong project management and facilitation

Although not essential, it would also be desirable for you to have effective visual presentation skills.
