Visy Logistics, part of the wider Visy Group, is a significant international freight operator. As part of our integrated, end-to-end freight and logistics offering we provide import, export and cross-trade shipping services globally, via our extensive office and agent network. Our comprehensive international freight services include international sea freight, air freight, freight forwarding, container transport, customs clearance and coastal shipping.

**The opportunity**:
As our Day Shift Supervisor, you are responsible for the day-to-day management of company drivers, vehicles, and subcontractors. You will be responsible for supervising two dispatcher and eighteen drivers on the day shift at our site based in Wiri, Auckland. Standard Operations is Monday to Friday starting at 5am, weekends as required, however due to the nature of the business expectation is for hours outside of this and able to be contactable 24/7. Your role is to ensure that all transport requests both metro and linehaul are actioned whilst delivering an exceptional level of customer service and relationship management across multiple business units. You will monitor productivity across the linehaul fleet ensuring that KPI’s are meet and look for opportunities to improve our current processes. Reporting to the Northern Intermodal Manager, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Manage the efficiency of the fleet within the agreed budget and control departmental costs and expenditure.
- Develop and implement quality management plans to ensure our customers’ needs are meet and deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
- Maintain work practices and environmental processes in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety and company practices. While actively identifying ways to improve our process and performance.
- Maintain records of work performed to facilitate accurate invoicing of clients and payment of employees.
- Manage the training, development & performance management of your team, and you will use your high level of drive and ability to motivate staff members, gain trust and build relationships.

**What you will bring to the team**:
Your previous leadership experience within the transport and logistics industry, along with your demonstrated experience in process improvement and cost management, will set you up for success in this role. You will have a high level of initiative and the ability to drive results, with a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices, along with the following.
- Valid NZ drivers licence min class 1.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint) is essential.
- Demonstrate knowledge of New Zealand commercial transport laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
