Road Logistics Supervisor

Due to a recent internal movement, we are now looking for a Road Logistics Supervisor to lead our dedicated and growing Road Logistics team.
- ** Your Role **:Overseeing a team of 4 people, you will use your leadership and decision making skills to continue to drive overall performance excellence. You will have a passion for ensuring customer excellence is consistently delivered whilst continuing to identify and implement operational improvements where possible. Maximising profit and ensuring our Road Logistics offering is exceptional against the market will be your focus
- ** Your Responsibilities**:
- Using your leadership skills, you will motivate and guide your team to ensure operational and customer excellence is consistently delivered. You will be the point of escalation for your direct reports and provide solutions where applicable.
- You will be a key influence to the business unit’s P&L, focusing on minimising cost and maximising profit.
- To be actively involved in leading the team across a range of people related activities including performance reviews/management, career development etc.
- To liaise with customers, managing feedback in a manner that provides explanations, puts the customer at ease & demonstrates that the right corrective actions have been put in place.
- Maintaining excellent relationships with other internal departments and service providers including key suppliers.
**Your Skills and Experiences**:
- Commercial & strategic acumen, with an ability to maximize profit, enable volume growth and think outside the box.
- Several years’ previous experience in the transport or international freight forwarding environment.
Strong time management, being comfortable working towards tight deadlines and remaining calm under pressure. This includes juggling competing priorities and working in a fast pace environment.
- You will be a problem solver and have a desire to “muck in” when needed.
- A solid understanding of operating procedures.
- Proven success in building positive working relationships both internally and externally. This includes driving customer excellence and also having difficult conversations when required.
- Previous leadership experience is advantageous, however having the desire and passion to lead, motivate and positively influence a team is essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
