**Te kāinga rua | The opportunity**

Make a difference joining a close-knit national team of Communication and Engagements specialists, where you will be providing strategic guidance and managing the delivery of engagement and communications projects for a variety of clients. As a specialist, you will be part of a broader team of designers, planners, environmental and sustainability specialists, digital and engineering consultants working collaboratively. You will be working and developing relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders including mana whenua, community groups and technical specialists, as well as facilitating conversations with local community members.

You will enjoy the dynamic nature of this consulting role, which is fast paced and where no two days are the same. Based in the Beca Kirikiriroa / Hamilton office, you will be working on projects predominantly within the Waikato and Te Moana-a-Toi / Bay of Plenty region with a strong focus on building our offering across this region. You will gain diverse and broad project experience, working with different clients, elevating and managing the communications and engagement requirements associated with projects such as:

- Making communities more resilient through transport and land use improvements
- Developing business cases to guide client investment
- Spatial planning that focuses on where future growth should be planned for
- New or upgraded community infrastructure

You will also be part of this nationwide Communications and Engagement specialists, with the opportunity to work on projects throughout New Zealand, within a team passionate about making every day better.

**Ko wai koe | About you**

You will enjoy connecting across diverse stakeholder groups with the ability to confidently lead stakeholder engagement in a variety of communications methods. You will be a confident communicator, leader, and someone who can hit the ground running with experience working with mana whenua and an understanding of Te Ao Māori considerations. You will have the ability to point out risk, have an eye for detail and experience taking often complex and jargon-fuelled information and make it an easy compelling read. You will be experienced working in a team, and you understand the value that Communications and Engagement can add to project and client outcomes.

You will be a technically strong writer with a nose for a good story, as well as be experienced at developing communication and engagement plans, leading large often complex communication strategies and working with a range of tools, including online, in person, open day and via events.

You will have a tertiary qualification and a proven background and experience in consulting, government or industry specialising in stakeholder and community engagement and/or communications planning and delivery. A working knowledge of the Resource Management Act, the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi, and IAP2 best practice and principles for engagement would be an advantage.

This role is available on a part time or full-time basis, based in Kirikiriroa / Hamilton.
