Exciting things are coming to New Zealand and as a result, our Supply Chain team is looking for a passionate, resilient and experienced Procurement Officer to join the team, initially on a 12 month contract base with potential for extension.

This role, offers the successful applicant, a great opportunity to build networks across multiple sites, enjoy variety and work in a hybrid style. Reporting to the Material Planning & Scheduling Lead, the Procurement Officer will undertake regular supplier visits across 2 sites - Dunedin,Christchurch with monthly travel to Auckland. so a driver’s license and willingness to travel is essential. You will be a key contact for production and material planning with suppliers and will manage the on time delivery and availability of material to support Alstom’s new build production line.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Manage the interface for delivery, open issue resolution and performance within the scope of suppliers they are designated
- Assist in setting up Master Data information in anticipation of issuing scheduling agreements to suppliers.
- Coordinate freight & logistic requirements for overseas shipments.
- Identify any inventory reduction opportunities to PRSCM (e.g. reduced batch sizes)
- Implement required changes to PO or schedule agreements required to harmonise material deliveries with project MPS
- Support supplier audits, performance reviews and assist development of improvement plans
- Identify supplier critical issues and/or capacity or capability concerns, and assist development of improvement plans
- Coordinate all supplier activities to secure the end of production (missing parts) while minimizing costs and obsolete inventories.

**Key Requirements**:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications - Supply Chain Management is preferred
- Experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field with exposure to Material Planning
- Experience in the use of SAP, or similar ERP
- Good communication and relationship management skills
- Drivers’ license and willingness to travel between Christchurch, Dunedin.
