**Our Opportunity**:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining and improving network infrastructure on a day-to-day basis, including troubleshooting network issues, configuring, and managing network devices, monitoring network performance, and ensuring high availability and reliability of network services.

This role has the flexibility to be based in Tauranga, Hamilton or Rotorua.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Manage and support the day-to-day network operations with a strong focus on Business-as-Usual (BAU) activities.
- Plan and execute network-related projects, including migrations, expansions, and system integrations adhering to industry best practices and security standards.
- Document network configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure accurate knowledge transfer and ease of troubleshooting.
- Travel to Mercury offices/sites and data centres to perform installations, configurations, and network troubleshooting as required.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for network improvements and optimizations.
- Participate in the on-call roster for after-hours support, promptly addressing and resolving any network-related issues.

**We are looking for**:

- Experience in a Network Engineer/Specialist capacity, preferably with significant data network technical responsibilities
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching, wireless network and Firewalls (PaloAlto/Fortinet)
- Experience with Cisco Nexus, Cisco wireless (9800 series) and Cisco ISE is preferred
- Solid understanding of network protocols, including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs/VXLANs, and VPN technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco VXLAN Network with MP-BGP EVPN is preferred but not mandatory.
