**About Education and Training Group**

The Education and Training group is a newly established to design, develop, and deliver workforce and tertiary education programs that focus on determinants of health and the shift towards a wellness model of care. This rōpu is comprised of Te Whare Whakangungu, Te Rau Matatau, Rangatahi ora and Centre of Māori Suicide Prevention.

**The Opportunity**

As the Manager of the Centre of Māori Suicide Prevention, you will play a crucial role in supporting Māori individuals, whānau, iwi, hāpu, and communities to achieve the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes. Working in partnership with Suicide Prevention and Postvention Coordinators across Aotearoa, you will provide oversight to a dedicated team focused on the prevention of suicide and addressing the impacts of loss among Māori. Your ability to build trusting relationships with Māori, rangatahi, whānau, hāpu, and the wider community will open opportunities for better collaboration and outcomes regarding Māori suicide prevention.

**Skills and Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in the suicide prevention sector, including familiarity with community and system-level approaches to Māori suicide prevention.
- Strong existing relationships with relevant stakeholders, such as whānau, hāpu, iwi, Māori communities, health and social services, community support services, community groups, and sector networks
- Proven experience in line managing, mentoring and supervising staff
