**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have a permanent, full-time **Manager, Immunisation **opportunity available in the Prevention Directorate of NPHS**. **This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures).

The Manager, Immunisation** **is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across the immunisation portfolio which includes the national immunisation programme, childhood immunisation and immunisation taskforce. The role works in partnership with our internal research, clinical and quality and safety teams in addition to Medsafe and providers across the health system to increase the rates of immunisation across Aotearoa.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A relevant tertiary degree with at least three years' experience working in the health system or other related field or significant and proven experience in similar roles the health or related NGO sector
- Able to draw on relevant longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands, acquired over time 5-10 years
- Demonstrated desire to build constructive and effective relationships with stakeholders to build a sound understanding of their operational environment and context
- Strong knowledge and experience in business planning or performance management
- Demonstrate inclusive leadership and management skills able to maximise the quality and contributions of individuals and teams to drive outcomes
- Able to maintain oversight of work responsibilities, to identify business / project requirements, to contribute to strategies, to plan, prioritise, delegate and organise work to deliver on short and long-term objectives
- Experience in the health sector will be an advantage but is not critical
