As the Claims Risk Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our progressive approach, working alongside our dynamic Claims Leadership Team to cultivate an empowered risk culture that ensures quick resolution of claims issues.

Reporting directly to the Chief Claims Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening our risk management environment and fostering collaboration across our Claims business unit. Your days will be filled with exciting challenges as you coordinate with business owners, our Line 2 Risk team and other key stakeholders to oversee controls and optimize processes across our Claims value chain and Claims Hubs.

**You can expect to be across the following**:

- Lead and champion a positive risk culture within the Claims team with your specialist risk management knowledge and skills to identify, assess and mitigate Claims risks effectively and efficiently for improved and faster decision-making.
- Facilitate clear communication and escalation of material risks/ incidents to improve awareness and allow more effective collaboration on mitigation strategies to more proactivity reduce the magnitude and frequency of incidents.
- Ensure controls are strong and regularly monitored, manage incidents, and understand root causes.
- Support the management of risk registers, compliance obligations/ attestations, and internal audit findings.
- Conduct risk data analysis and reporting, including proactively identifying emerging risks.
- Review and challenge incident identification and mitigation practices.
- Facilitate a structured approach using workshops and risk assessments to support an uplift in risk awareness and capability across the Claims business unit.
- Prepare and present papers and reporting for relevant governance committee meetings including Towers Management Risk and Compliance Committee.

**What you'll need**

**To be successful in this role, you will also be able to demonstrate the following**:

- 5+ years' experience in a Line 1 or Line 2 operational risk role within financial services.
- Experience in an insurance or claims environment is highly desirable.
- Proven data analytics and risk reporting skills through a risk management system.
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk principles and a risk mindset.
- Strong understanding of risk management and monitoring processes (such as risk identification, assessment, and risk treatment, as well as controls design, implementation and testing)
- Understanding of relevant regulations and laws governing the insurance industry.
- Ability to build strong, open, and collaborative working relationships.
