We’re looking for an innovative person to join us as part of the Western Regional Parks team You’ll have varied and wide-ranging responsibilities for programmes of work across the Western sector of Regional Parks, including management of plant and equipment, operational maintenance and budget management.

**Day to day you will**:

- Lead the parks asset management work programme to ensure equipment and infrastructure is regularly checked and maintained
- Use and promote the use of asset data capture apps and management systems to ensure our asset condition knowledge is confidently understood
- Plan and deliver work maintenance programmes associated with the extensive network of tracks, equipment, car parks and roads across the Western Regional Parks
- Provide leadership for a team park rangers and programme support staff
- Develop project scoping documentation for opex and capex work
- Work closely with in-house project leaders, contractors, and other internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to our vision of a world class regional parks service

You will work collaboratively with other senior rangers in the team to meet joint regional park outcomes (including the fields of conservation, partnerships and recreation & education), as well as being adept at working within the Auckland Council whanau and its council-controlled organisations (CCOs) to foster and further outcomes within your remit.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

To be successful in this role, you’ll be able to bring proven leadership skills with experience in programme management and delivery, park and land management and asset management. You’ll be able to coach and provide direction and bring your top-notch relationship building and communication skills. Knowledge of park operations and Ranger work is highly desirable. An appropriate tertiary or recognised qualification will also be required.

This position is based at the Western Regional Parks office at the Arataki Visitor Centre; however, you will be required to work across all the Western sector and support the regional parks network.

You will be required to work as part of a rostered standby system which includes weekends and public holidays.

A current New Zealand drivers licence is essential as you will be travelling within the Auckland region.
