Joining our Professional Services team will see you at the heart of this growth, working across the scope of MB Century’s operations. This includes geothermal and hydro industries for general mechanical, fabrication and design engineering activities, both national and international.
**The Role**:
This is an essential role, by understanding the customer’s objectives, you will provide the first steps in the project life cycle with MB Century, primarily focused on preparing competitive, compelling proposals to win work for our services in the Geothermal and Hydropower industries. You’ll achieve this by:
- Listening to our clients to gain a strong understanding of their needs and drivers to ensure we provide tailored solutions that are fit for purpose
- Engaging with relevant teams and technical specialists across our business to ensure we offer industry-leading, deliverable solutions
- Building effective relationships with external suppliers and subcontractors to assist with providing competitive pricing and accurate supply information
- Costing and estimating from first principles
- Developing influential, trusted relationships with our clients and subcontractors
- Managing the timely input and compilation of competitive bids and proposals
- Continuous improvement mindset - identify cost reduction opportunities and lessons learned to bridge the gap between tender and delivery
- Ensuring the technical requirements of contracts are fully understood and consistently applied
**You**:
This role maps the early stages of contact with our clients which is integral to fostering growth. You will be a natural at establishing strong long-term relationships and comfortable working along-side your colleagues, our clients and suppliers to achieve successful solutions.
Tertiary qualified with a background in a technical sales, industrial or engineering environment you’ll demonstrate a flair for writing compelling bid proposals, an ability to use technical data for story-telling and an engaging presentation style.
In addition to bringing solid experience with estimating/costing and proven experience delivering proposals that win new business, you also offer:
- Excellent English literacy and flowing writing style
- An ability to interpret and frame technical information that is accurate, comprehensive, and easily understood
- Persuasively articulate our unique points of difference and inspire confidence that MB Century is their partner of choice
- Talent for engaging other project team members to get the information you need to deliver on time
- Excellent listening and questioning skills to explore and determine the client’s requirements and goals
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial T&Cs
- Knowledge of NZ contract law
- Proficiency with estimating and CRM software
If you are looking to move to New Zealand, then you’ll be pleased to know that we are an Accredited Employer, and we welcome applicants from overseas. This role will be based in our Taupo headquarters where our staff work 40-hour weeks, starting at 7.30am and finishing at 4pm, Monday to Friday. The salary range for this role is NZD $80,000 - $100,000.
