Wellington City, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

We are looking for a planning and performance whizz wanting to work reduced hours for this job share role. You may be returning to the work force or looking for more flexibility.

**About us**:
Our waterways define so much about life here in Aotearoa. So, it's vital every stretch - from the pristine South Island sounds to the wild West Coast waves - is well looked after. We exercise Kaitiakitanga over the maritime domain, supporting Aotearoa oceans and waterways to be safe, secure, clean and sustainable. Through our organisational strategy Te Korowai o Kaitiakitanga, The Cloak of Stewardship, we're on a multi-year journey to bring together our aroha, work and skills to ensure we can operate more strongly as stewards of the maritime domain.

**About the Team**:
The Regulatory Operations Planning and Performance team (ROPP) plays a critical role in ensuring that the Regulatory Operations Group is supported by effective and efficient systems, planning, processes, reporting, and quality management. The ROPP team supports the Regulatory Operations Group as a whole, and links closely with relevant teams across Maritime NZ to ensure that Regulatory Operations work is driven from both a top down and bottom up perspective, and that the most important regulatory compliance issues and risks are identified and addressed.

**What you'll do**:
As part of a job sharing arrangement, you and our Planning and Delivery Coordinator will play key supporting roles in the development and delivery of work that provides quality insights, robust advice and effective planning and performance across the General Regulatory Operations Group.
You'll support the Manager, Regulatory Operations, Planning and Performance with work programme planning, development and delivery.
Your planning and delivery skills will shine as you support your team to deliver regulatory operations planning, performance and reporting while also identifying opportunities for further development and improvement. You'll actively build and maintain key relationships while collaborating across the General Regulatory Operations Group and wider Maritime NZ.

**Ideal hours of work**: 20-22.5 hours per week, 3 per week days ideally Mon / Wed / Fri OR Tues / Wed / Fri (3 full days)

**What we're looking for**:

- Exceptional organisation and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional standards for written work
- Experience in working with teams of professional and technical specialists and advisors.
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to problem-solve
- Tech savvy with good computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office products and document management processes
- Ability to work in a culturally safe and respectful manner, always being mindful of the cultural diversity of the industry and having regard to Te Ao Māori and Treaty of Waitangi principles.

**Other good stuff**:
You'll be part of an excellent team where you will enjoy great employee benefits and will see plenty of scope to learn, upskill and explore your options. It's satisfying and enjoyable work, and our Regulatory Operations Planning and Performance team is part of the engine making it all happen. So if you've been wondering what the next step could or should be in your career, we think it's time to 'navigate your next' journey here with us.
Applications for this role close Monday 29th May 2023.
