We are looking for a Communications Coordinator with demonstrated writing, editing and proofreading skills, excited to be a part of the meaningful mahi we do at Family Planning.

The position of Communications Coordinator is to support the communications team as they work on key projects.

You will provide communication support for print and e-publications, staff newsletters, management of the membership function, creation and development of content across multiple platforms including social media and coordination of activities to support the effective delivery of communications projects.


The Communications Coordinator role is a fixed term position ending on 22 December 2023, to provide support to our small communications team as they deliver on key communication projects.

This role will be based in our Wellington National Office working with other teams providing corporate services support.

We are open to discussing flexible hours between per week with the option of some of these hours working from home to support your work life balance.


This role is a great opportunity for someone starting a communications career and looking for experience in all areas of internal and external communications.

  • Demonstrated writing, editing and proofreading skills.

  • A high level of computer literacy, ideally with prior experience with enewsletter platforms, SharePoint and database systems.
  • Integrity and good judgement.
  • A creative, innovative approach to work.
  • High levels of adaptability, be receptive to new ideas, and remain calm and objective under pressure.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to work with a diverse range of people and perspectives.
