Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are looking for an admin superstar, to join our existing Patient Administration Coordinators, at the Patient Service Centre; based across Auckland City Hospital, Starship hospital and Greenlane clinical centre.
Challenging but rewarding, PAS (Patient Administration Services) is a department like no other. It is service-orientated (we're here for our patients) with no two days being the same. You'll be working with a close-knit administrative group and alongside a large multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, nurses, business managers and clinical directors.
This role will allow you the opportunity to display your leadership skills, build relationships and grow your knowledge base within the organisation and will support our Outpatient Clinic Scheduling team or Surgical Bookings team.

**Outpatient Clinic Scheduling**:

- High level of engagement with our patients/parents to organise their specialist appointments
- Collaborate with clinicians, nurses and Services to ensure the running of clinics
- Work within the PAS family to train together towards best administrative practices

**Surgical Booking**:

- Direct patient contact and engagement, to arrange a date for surgery
- Use of electronic daily waiting lists reports, ensuring a patient focussed and equity booking approach is implemented
- Work alongside the clinical and service management teams. To ensure our patients transition smoothly throughout their planned care pathway

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
This position will suit a motivated individual with a proactive approach and a high level of initiative. As the ideal person for the role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

- A good understanding of the Surgical and Outpatient pathway
- Proven previous experience in a coordination role or fast past environment. Previous experience working for Te Whatu Ora will be considered an great advantage.
- Team player, demonstrating the ability to build good, longstanding relationships both inside and outside of the services
- Flexible and able to work well under pressure
- Solid cultural intelligence to perform well in a diverse environment.
- Strong time management skills; needed for competing priorities and maintaining a good work life balance
- Resilient and have a great sense of humour - as some days you might need it.
- Fluency in other languages. Mandarin preferably.
