The Anatomical Pathology Laboratory at Waikato Hospital is seeking to recruit a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join its growing team. You will be working in our Histology/Cytology department to ensure a high standard of work in all aspects of Anatomical Pathology. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Medical Laboratory Scientist looking to continue their career in a tertiary hospital laboratory setting.

Duties include specimen reception and registration, preparation and processing of tissue specimens, slide staining, filing, and equipment maintenance. You will also be expected to participate in the on call roster.

Our team, located within Waikato Hospital are supported by modern, well equipped histology and cytology laboratories with an enthusiastic and skilled scientific workforce. We have access to a wide range of diagnostic stains and techniques. The Waikato Hospital Anatomical Pathology Laboratory processes 18,500 surgical cases per year and 2200 cytology cases per year.

- Previous knowledge of and experience in an Anatomical Pathology Laboratory will be an advantage.
