Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The Anatomical Pathology Laboratory at Waikato Hospital is seeking to recruit a full time Medical Laboratory Scientist or Cytologist on a fixed term basis to cover a period of parental leave.

You will be primarily responsible for supporting the cytology service, working closely with clinicians, pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure a high standard of work in all aspects of non-gynae cytology.

Duties include specimen reception and registration, preparation and processing of specimens, attendance at onsite FNAs and ROSE procedures and non-gynae cytology screening.

You will also be expected to participate in the Cytology RCPA Quality Assurance Programme.

We have access to a wide range of diagnostic stains and techniques.

The Waikato Hospital Anatomical Pathology Laboratory processes over 18,000 surgical cases per year and over 2200 cytology cases per year.
