Our Christchurch campus is home to over 1,000 students. One third are medical students in their three clinical years of training and physiotherapy students in their final clinical year. Two thirds are postgraduate health sciences students undertaking a range of programmes to PhD level.

The University of Otago Christchurch has internationally recognised research strengths in a number of areas including heart disease, indigenous health, infectious diseases, genetics, cancer, biomedical engineering, nursing, mental health and public health.

We are looking for an exceptional person to guide and develop a high-performance culture, focused on providing excellence in customer service and a commitment to continuous improvement.

The Senior Manager Client Services role will work closely with the Dean and our Canterbury based staff to lead and manage the provision of professional business and operations support services. The role also provides high quality strategic business and operational support for the Dean.

The Senior Manager Client Services operates as the key liaison between various support service functions such as finance, IT, human resources, marketing, research support, business intelligence and reporting, and student related services.

We are looking for a people leader with a background in a busy and complex operation or administration role where high levels of customer service delivery are expected.

You will have a hands-on experience in:

- Managing large teams and the provision of operations or business support across multiple client areas.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholder groups.
- Successful implementation of consistent work processes and procedures across multiple work groups and teams.
- Streamlining activities with the customer at the centre, to create value add experiences and consistency of service.

A strong customer service orientation and commitment to continuous improvement initiatives is critical to the success of this role.

The Senior Manager Client Services role is part of the Shared Services Division, a team of highly skilled professional staff responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery to the University’s internal and external customers.
