Public Trust is seeking a Senior Client Advisor to join our Charities Team based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch. (this is a hybrid role, with a chance to work remotely 50% of the time)

About the role
Our Charities Team provides a superior end to end service for Public Trust's charitable trusts.

In this role, you can expect to be working with customers in setting up charitable trusts and managing the ongoing charitable granting process for existing charitable trusts, mentoring and supporting the growth of the teams capability and contributing to the development of raising the team's profile in the community.


Responsibilities include:

  • Providing a superior end to end service for our charitable trusts including the establishment of investment strategies, financial statement preparation and charitable granting
  • Offering a consistent and outstanding level of customer service, building trust by engaging our customers and actively anticipating and meeting their needs
  • Proactively generating and managing appointments for yourself for business development and revenue growth opportunities
  • Monitoring your performance to meet financial, customer and risk targets, and develop strategies to ensure achievement
  • Coaching and mentoring junior members of the team by proactively sharing knowledge, experiences and best practices on trustee matters
  • Contributing to the successful running of the team by collaborating with colleagues to ensure the collective success of the team.

Who we're looking for

  • Experience in charitable trusts, legal and/or financial planning is a preference
  • Previous experience as a Trustee, Solicitor or Legal Executive would be advantageous as would prior exposure to basic accounting concepts
  • Strong planning and administration skills and comfort with systems and technology
  • The ability to have quality conversations with customers and communicate effectively
  • Proven ability to train, mentor and motivate others
  • Have the ability to understand, define and resolve a problem.
