Auckland City, New Zealand Auckland Council Full time

Join us to support the reshaping of Health, Safety & Wellbeing in a unique, multi-disciplinary agency
- Provide meaningful advice that will help the delivery of significant urban change in Auckland
- Champion a new approach to wellbeing within a flexible and supportive team where work/life harmony is promoted

**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**

Eke Panuku Development’s vision is "Creating Amazing Places." Our mission is to rejuvenate urban Auckland - from small projects that refresh a site or building, to major transformations of town centres or neighbourhoods. We are creators, curators, and caretakers. Creating legacies for the generations to come.

We are looking for a Senior Health, Safety, & Wellbeing Advisor to help us shape our approach to this work.

This is an exciting time to join Eke Panuku as we set about transforming and building a fresh approach to health and safety, and how wellbeing can be championed and embedded in a time where workplace flexibility and pastoral care for employees is a key change issue.

This role is pivotal to providing health and safety support across the business, as well liaising with partners such as contractors, volunteers and external agencies. You will support our Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing to drive our commitment to providing and maintaining a safe, healthy and secure working environment. You will work with a wide range of professions to provide knowledge and help them to integrate health and safety best practice into day-to-day work activities.

You’ll also:

- Coach and mentor colleagues to help build their safety capability through targeted training
- Develop and support risk-based systems that put our people first
- Spot and lead the delivery of strategic projects that you feel will support the changes we are looking to make

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

This role requires experience in similar health and safety roles within a medium to large complex organisation. A critical factor in guaranteeing your success in this position is your approach to working with others. We are looking for an individual who has an open door policy when it comes to health, safety & wellbeing.

You will be passionate about being an educator as opposed to an enforcer. You will be comfortable in a dynamic environment where change is required, you may have had experience working to support a reset in an organisation’s health and safety area.

We will be looking for specific experience with:

- Implementation and monitoring of Health and Safety Management Systems, Health and Safety Inspections, Health and Safety Audits
- Identifying learning from incident/accident investigations and Risk Assessments
- Proven knowledge of New Zealand H&S legislation
- In-depth knowledge of H&S best practice

**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**

We’re visionaries leading the way in sustainable urban development. You’ll join a team embracing diversity with a culture built on its people spirit. Our salaries are competitive, we love flexible working and we’re all here to inspire one another. This is your chance to make a positive contribution to the future of Tāmaki Makaurau.

In return for your hard work, you can expect a flexible and supportive work environment.

Ehara taku toa, he takitahi, he toa takitini - My success is not mine alone, but the success of many.

We aim to have a fun workplace where people have opportunities to learn and grow. You’ll have access to a range of fantastic Auckland Council benefits, including discounted Leisure Centre membership and a range of other partnership discounts

**You can find the position description** here
