**About the role**:
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional to join our team. Based at our Auckland Head Office and reporting to Head of People & Culture, the Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for driving, shaping and influencing the H&S process, policies and procedures of Temperzone while also assisting with the development and delivery of our H&S plan group wide.

Engagement is key in delivering successful outcomes and providing strategic guidance to the senior leadership team of Temperzone with an overall focus of improving and sustaining the safety of our employees.

Leveraging strong working relationships across all levels of the business, the H&S Manager will work alongside and motivate various teams, from production and supply chain to our product development, shared services and contractors. You will be responsible for the safety site audit process, managing our H&S hazard/incident reporting, and ensuring compliance with NZ/AU regulations and pre-qualification schemes. You will have a good understanding and experience using the Safety II approach.

**Day in Life of H&S Manager**:

- This role requires a hands-on safety evolution approach focusing on new ways to manage health and safety processes and encouraging innovative ideas to manage risks. _
- On a daily basis you will:_
- Lead H&S improvement planning process to ensure effective implementation.
- Proactively identify and assess risks and working in partnership with operational leaders to implement robust controls.
- Driving near-miss reporting, hazard identification and incident reporting and effective and thorough investigations.
- Collating, maintaining and analysing H&S data to drive effective actions.
- Maintaining relationships with regulatory authorities.
- Identify training needs, developing and delivering H&S training.

**Qualifications**:
**What will you bring to the role**:

- To be successful in this role you will have experience in a manufacturing environment and the Safety ll (Safety differently) approach. You will have in depth working knowledge of hazardous substances and be comfortable leading the way in this area._

Your ability to think creatively, problem solve, adapt to evolving situations and build relationships quickly is key. You will have proven superior influencing, communication and consultation skills to able engagement and have a track record of leading change from a process safety perspective.
- Along with a relevant qualification in Health and Safety you will have at least 3-5years experience in a business partner level or higher role and have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the NZ HSWA Act and ideally the Australian Work Health and Safety Act. _

This role is a full-time position working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday based at our head office on Tidal Rd, Mangere. While some flexibility is available, given the nature of the role, it is important that you are available. This role will also provide H&S support to our Australian business so travel will be involved as needed.
