Are you an experienced Play Specialist, seeking a new opportunity?_**

Kidz First Children’s Hospital, based at Middlemore Hospital, has an exciting role available to a Play Specialist Team Leader. The Play Specialist Team Leader will work with clinical and operational managers and other leaders across Kidz First division to provide leadership, clinical coordination and management to the play specialist team. This role will be responsible for the delivery of services as per the strategic and operational plans of the service.

The role involves providing excellence clinical practices and ensuring high quality care is provided to children and young people. You will provide opportunities for children and young people to grow and develop in the unfamiliar environment of a hospital. We are looking for someone who has experience working with children/young people within a diverse community. Flexibility, a sense of humour, organisational skills and innovation and effective open communication skills are key requirements.

**Essential**:

- B.Ed (EC teaching/Primary) or Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) degree with an APC
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience with 3-4 years of experience in the area of play specialist
- Relevant experience working in an early childhood/primary school setting
- Experience working in a hospital-based play and recreation programme
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with finance, admin and operational management
- Demonstrate an ability to be able to work as part of a diverse team
- Has worked within multi-cultural communities
- Full, clean driver’s licence
