**Team Manager - Peer Support Specialist**

- **Permanent, Full time (40 hours per week)**:

- **General working hours 8:00am - 4:30pm/8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday**:

- **Pay Band: $77,621 pa - $83,100 pa** (depending on qualification, experience, skill and knowledge)

Ember Korowai Takitini are leaders in The Peer & Lived Experience mental health and addiction sector, dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Our Peer & Lived Experience services blends professional expertise and lived experience to offer a range of services and supports for anyone with mental health, addiction, or intellectual disability needs.

We are seeking a Team Manager to lead a new service established to embed Peer Support Specialist within allocated Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland Kahui o te Ihi clinical services. These services are:

- ** (1) Kari Centre**

**(a) Aronui Ora **(Maternal mental health) (1FTE)

**(b) Hāpai Ora **(Early Psychosis Service) (1FTE)
- ** (2) Manawanui **(Māori mental health) (2FTE)
- **(3) Lotofale **(Pacific mental health) (2FTE)

**The Service**:
As a Peer Support Specialist Team manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting, leading and co-ordinating Peer Support Specialists embedded in selective clinical services. You will work collaboratively with three multidisciplinary teams of mental health professionals, ensuring a holistic and person-centred approach to care.

**Role**:
As the Team Manager for our Peer Support Specialist Service, you will play a vital role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and support a team of Peer Support Specialists, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide strong leadership, guidance, and supervision to a team of Peer Support Specialists.
- Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and guidelines in collaboration with the team.
- Recruit, train, and onboard new Peer Support Specialists.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages personal growth, collaboration, and mutual support.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of services.
- Monitor program outcomes, collect data, and prepare reports to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in peer support services.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in managing teams and overseeing program operations.
- Knowledge of peer support principles and practices.
- Familiarity with mental health challenges and recovery-oriented approaches.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and maintain professional boundaries.
- Proficient computer skills for documentation and data management purposes.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth.
- Full NZ Drivers Licence
- Valid/Current work visa, residency, or citizenship
