**Te Tūranga - The Role**:
Our Climate Change team is working with our communities on climate adaptation. Part of this involves monitoring changes. Some communities wish to establish their own local monitoring of hazards such as coastal erosion and flooding. Establishing a system around this is where we need your help

Your work could include:

- Community engagement to understand needs.
- Set up of monitoring stations with the community.
- Creation of monitoring plans and training.

You’ll be joining the Climate Change and Geospatial teams. Our small Climate Change team work across both adaptation and mitigation. We are leading the way with a Community Led Adaptation Initiative and have a number of communities engaged in local adaptation planning across our region. We work closely with the GIS team.

**Ngā Pūkenga, ngā wheako - Your Skills & Experience**
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technically and with the community.
- Ability to work proactively without supervision.
- Working knowledge of climate change adaptation (not compulsory but would be advantageous).
- We value a good sense of humour and a positive attitude.
- Be studying or plan to commence studying towards a relevant qualification in Science, Environmental management, Climate change, Geography, Earth Science, Geospatial, or Engineering.
- Hold a current driver's licence.

This position will be located in Tauranga.
