**About the role**:
The Automation Product Specialist is a critical member of the broader Digital Experience team. The role will provide thought leadership, technical guidance, and broader advocacy on automation through collaborating with product teams, as well as leading the Automation Centre of Excellence.

Through collaboration, this role will represent strategic automation needs and priorities, manage the automation backlog, and incorporate feedback from Product Managers to guide automation and platform improvement anchored to our digital strategy.

Day to day, the Automation Product Specialist will play a key role in driving the adoption of automation technologies, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), across Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.

**In this role you’ll**:

- Provide thought leadership and guidance on automation best practices, helping to shape the overall automation strategy for Te Wānanga o Aotearoa under the guidance of the Director - Digital Experience and in collaboration with Product Managers
- Develop and implement automation frameworks and processes, including RPA and APIs, to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, technology, and marketing, to ensure the effective integration of automation technologies into existing systems and processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in automation, and share this knowledge with the wider organisation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to product teams as they implement automation technologies, including RPA and APIs.
- Work with product teams to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for enhancing the automation capabilities of the digital learning experience.
- Act as a liaison between product teams and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between stakeholders

**About you - you’ll have**:

- A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, engineering or related discipline
- Excellent experience in automation, including experience with RPA and APIs
- Strong experience determining and overseeing iterative software development initiatives
- Demonstrated experience and success in defining and building products
- Demonstrated facilitation and influencing skills to drive decision making among stakeholders with diverse perspectives and priorities
- A passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact on tauira lives through digital products
- Full NZ Drivers Licence
