**The role**

This role is responsible for providing hands-on leadership and direction to the specialist DevOps (Platform) Team, ensuring business goals and on-going efficiency and productivity improvements are achieved.

The role provides the opportunity to join a progressive and forward-thinking organisation, at the cutting edge of agri-tech.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Provide leadership, mentorship and coaching to drive performance excellence within the team.
- Work collaboratively with members of the wider Technology team to develop, implement, and govern CICD and Observability strategies, roadmaps, operational processes, and methodologies, ensuring environments meet developer requirements, are fit for purpose, current, and align with industry direction.
- Lead the implementation and enable the usage of proactive and timely event monitoring and provide performance reporting.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with business stakeholders and external support partners.
- Research, design, develop, educate and support of agreed CI/CD tools, automation tools, observability, monitoring & alerting tools.
- Ensure the effective maintenance of infrastructure within which the Digital Engineering teams can produce quality products in a timely manner.
- Identify opportunities for scripted or automated solutions.
- Support, enable and champion best practice service management between the Digital Engineering teams and wider Technology support teams.
- As a member of the management team, participate and provide input into the Technology team strategic planning process.

**About You**

You'll also confidently demonstrate:

- Strong experience implementing and operating CI/CD, automation and monitoring tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Leading or working within a team to understand, plan, prioritise and coordinate workload
- Proven experience with Agile methods and practices, specifically around multiple, iterative production releases.
- Experience of some or all of the following: version control systems, build management tools, artefact repositories, IDEs and Deployment tools, scripting and automation, virtualisation or containerisation
- Experience in cloud computing and/or cloud infrastructure architecture (AWS and/or Azure)
- An ITIL Service Management Foundation qualification or strong working knowledge
