**Job Description**:
Contact is on a journey to raise our analytical, reporting and communications capability on ESG (Environment, Social & Governance). We want to ensure that our ESG commitments are targeted and clear, and that sustainability, regulatory and ESG reporting reflects the significant initiatives that Contact have in place today.

Our Corporate Affairs team is on the hunt for a Regulatory and ESG Analyst to help bring our ESG capability and commitments to the forefront. You will be joining a team of super talented legal counsel and communication folk who punch well above their weight when it comes to their skills and the mahi they put in. You will report directly to the Head of Regulatory and Government Relations and be part of a supportive, collaborative team all working towards a common goal - helping Contact achieve its business strategy of decarbonizing NZ.

A key focus of your role will be to maintain and develop ESG and regulatory reporting to ensure that Contact is recognised by external and internal stakeholders for its contribution to New Zealand.

To drive this, you will be tasked to develop regulatory submissions on ESG and regulatory matters, (supported by comprehensive data and evidence) in consultation with stakeholders across Contact.

You will also work alongside our Sustainability Team to collect, monitor, interpret and report ESG initiatives for both internal and external audiences. And help implement activities that grow our ESG credentials.

So, what does an average week look like in this role? Here's a sneak peek into some of the mahi you will be involved with;
- Ensure Contact has best practice frameworks to guide our ESG programme and reporting
- Collaborate with the Sustainability Team to keep up to date with ESG reporting frameworks, stakeholder expectations, regulatory issues, and trends that impact on Contact’s external reporting and sustainability programme
- Review, update and maintain Contact’s risk review processes in relation to ESG issues
- Support and champion communication of Contact’s sustainability story, progress and resources internally and externally

We offer a flexible work environment; the team is based in Wellington, but there is the opportunity to work remotely as it suits you.

**Qualifications**:
You are passionate about sustainability and pride yourself on your ESG and regulatory knowledge. You enjoy sharing your expertise and working collaboratively towards a common goal.

Your strong communication skills are impressive and your focus on attention to detail ensures you produce accurate work and documentation.

You enjoy identifying new ways of doing things and you’re not afraid to challenge processes or systems when needed.

- Around 2 years’ experience working in regulation, sustainability and/or environmental management and reporting
- A strong understanding of key ESG issues, trends and activities
- Ability to learn and understand the key commercial drivers of a business
