**About us**:
AA Money is an exciting joint venture between the New Zealand Automobile Association ("the AA") and Suncorp Group. It was designed to expand each organisation's brand and product offering in vehicle and personal lending. This business will provide current and potential AA members with simple, transparent and trusted money solutions under the AA Money brand. The new business will be here to help New Zealanders look after their financial well-being and sort their money needs, with an initial focus on motor vehicle lending.

**Role Purpose**

The Risk and Compliance team provides independent and objective assurance, consultation, and risk advisory services to assist AA Money's management to deliver on its strategic priorities and meet its accountabilities. This is achieved by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and governance processes within AA Money and ensuring a positive risk management culture is embedded in all roles in the organisation. This critical role requires you to develop and lead a team of trusted analysts and officers with a balance of skills in risk management and assurance. Establishing and maintaining the frameworks and tools that set the expectations around risk management and assurance within AA Money is a key priority. As the team and function evolves, the balance of focus will shift to the delivery of advice to the leadership team and business units.

**To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following competencies**:

- Practical problem solving and influencing skills and strong analytical and report writing skills
- Continuous improvement, operational excellence and innovation mind-set - Proven experience with coaching and mentoring team members
- Excellent organisational skills to handle multiple initiatives at one time
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high pressure and demanding environment
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills
- Financial services expertise and a sound understanding of the regulatory environment in which the financial sector operates, including good working knowledge of relevant legislation
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and can cope effectively with change
