**_ About the role_**

The award-winning Alistair Sidey Mountain Lodge has been rebuilt to a state-of-the-art centre, where our students enjoy a top quality Outdoor Education programme in the stunning alpine environment in the Kura Tawhiti area. The lodge is tucked away in a sunny beech forest with enviable views within 800m of Castle Hill Village along with a dedicated team of Outdoor Education Instructors.

As an Outdoor Education Instructor, you will Inspire and mentor our young people on their Outdoor Education Camp experience while leading them safely through school camp activities. You’ll also provide support and mentoring for out international and ESOL students while on camp. This is an all-encompassing role where your studies and experiences in a variety of activities will be utilised all while being a positive and an effective communicator. There are no two days and camps the same - you will need to be able to tailor your approach to a wide audience with differing demands all while keeping calm and cool under pressure.

This is a full time, fixed term opportunity from July 15 2024 - December 13 2024.

Hours are between 30-50 hours per week

The role is Monday -Friday with some flexibility required for overnight, weekend and holiday work.

**_ What you’ll bring to the role_**

You need to have the following qualifications and/or experience;
- NZRA Grade 2 Raft Award
- NZOIA Rock Leader or equivalent skills and experience
- NZOIA Abseil Leader or equivalent skills and experience
- NZOIA Bush 1 or equivalent skills and experience
- PHEC or Outdoor First Aid
- Full clean drivers licence
- Cultural understanding and language skills to be able to support our international and ESOL students predominantly Chinese and Korean
