The Council provides a cycle safety programme for primary schools all over the city which targets 10- and 11-year-olds and aims to improve the cycling skills of children and to encourage them to cycle.

**Who are you?**
You are positive, energetic, and excited to be a part of fostering a cycling culture for our tamariki. You will have the patience and attitude to work in this rewarding environment, seeing children gain confidence in their personal ability on a daily basis. Our environment is truly refreshing, and you are given the opportunity to incorporate your enthusiasm for being active while teaching a valuable skill.

**What experience is needed?**
You will have strong knowledge of the road code with practical cycling skills and previous experience delivering a cycle education programme to children. You have a natural ability to teach and manage groups of students whilst also leading and influencing your team. You show initiative and are a point of contact and decision maker on a daily basis. The Assistant Lead Instructor works closely with the Lead Instructors to provide training and assistance for the rest of the team. You pride yourself on your customer focus, honesty, and a high level of workplace maturity. As the face of Christchurch City Council, it is important that you are professional in all environments, role modelling great customer service.

This position requires you to assist with the physical aspects of the programme and to maintain a positive attitude. Excellent organisational and time management skills coupled with your developed people skills and can-do attitude will ensure you contribute to our talented team.

- Hours of work_ - 5 days a week usually starting at 8.30am and finish at 3:45pm_
