One of New Zealand's top education providers are looking for a confident manager to take over the international side of student recruitment.


Joining the Future Students team, you will help support our student recruitment agenda, including the domestic school-leaver market, adult learners, postgraduate, research and equity.

The team are responsible for the entire recruitment cycle from lead generation, nurturing and conversion through a range of resources both in-house and through outsourced contracts.


In the position of International Student Recruitment and Conversion Manager, you will be a key member of the team and a mentor.

You will be working closely with the Director of Recruitment, leading the International Recruitment team with eight people reporting to you across three countries, overseeing a network of 120 contractors.


There is an element of travel in this position that can see you travelling to India and South East Asia for up to roughly 10 days at a time (roughly twice a year) but frequency is something that we can't be completely exact with.


Key duties and responsibilities:

Strategy and Planning
Lead and develop an innovative international student recruitment and conversion strategy that reflects the organisations strategic intent and goals.

Student Recruitment, Conversion and Stakeholder Engagement
Student recruitment needs are met, and key external and internal stakeholders are actively identified, engaged and their needs met.

Leadership and Management

The company achieves its strategic and operational objectives through the attraction, development and retention of high calibre staff who are committed to and support the achievement of an aligned set of goals.


Analysis and Reporting
Services and processes operate efficiently and are effectively tailored to meet the diverse needs of students and stakeholders

Key attributes required for this position:

  • Leadership experience, preferably in tertiary or secondary education environments or in a sales position
  • Extensive experience in Sales and Account Management from any field of expertise is considered
  • A proven track record of working to long sales cycles
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, including group presentation skills
  • Experience in implementing customer feedback systems to evaluate services and develop products
  • Experience in analysing quantitative data to determine effectiveness of services and improve outcomes
  • Experience in delivering process and technology improvements to support sales goals
  • Understanding of culture and identity diversity and inclusion
  • Knowledge of New Zealand academic qualifications ideal but not a nessessity
