An opportunity exists to reduce the incidence and consequence of fire within our communities by utilising your knowledge as part of our Risk Reduction team in Tairawhiti.

**Mō tēnei tūranga - About the role**

We have a vacancy within our Tairawhiti Community Risk Management team, Advisor - Risk Reduction. In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking the delivery, supporting, and advising of risk reduction functions and activities across the built and natural environment.

The role will undertake a range of work including regulatory compliance, education, and stakeholder engagement as well as being responsible for driving risk reduction projects to support district objectives.

You will work closely with district fire brigades and communities to develop and enhance their understanding across the 4 R’s of emergency management.

- An ability to build collaborative working relationships with a wide range of people and organisations
- A proven ability to plan and deliver work proactively and semi-autonomously within set timeframes
- An ability to convey complex and technical information to a range of audiences
- A commitment to working with Maori as tangata whenua and have experience working with hapu, iwi, Maori entities/organisations, and other diverse communities of Tairawhiti.
