Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Associate in our high performing Institutional Banking team, working closely with the Relationship Managers to provide industry and analytical expertise to help inform good credit decisions and support strong and enduring customer relationships. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Preparing credit submissions based on your understanding of the client and their business.- Overseeing legal documentation through to transaction execution.- Proactively identifying customer needs, risks and issues and coming up with financial solutions.- Interacting on a day-to-day basis with our key corporate and institutional customers, maintaining excellent customer service at every opportunity.-
- Monitoring / maintenance of an existing portfolio of accounts and in doing so demonstrating your attention to detail and enjoyment of getting things right first time.- You will be a key provider of risk analysis in the origination and evaluation processes. When undertaking analysis, you remain alert to the presence of marketing and risk mitigation opportunities. This will involve close liaison with the Portfolio Manager, Relationship Managers, Credit, and Product teams.
Na tōu rourou | What will you bring?- Ideally you will have a tertiary qualification with a Finance, Commerce, Economics or Accounting major and at least three years’ experience in a business lending role.- Your expert knowledge in financial analysis, research skills as well as having a commercial understanding of New Zealand’s business and economic environment will ensure your success in this role.- Your adaptability and receptiveness to change will help support the Institutional Banking team in providing coverage for a broad customer base that includes large corporates, financial institutions, property, infrastructure, and utilities.- Equally important are your excellent communication skills (written and verbal), being customer centric and a team player with high levels of personal integrity and professionalism.- Having a strong understanding of legal documentation (including loan agreements, security documents, and ISDAs and CSAs) is an advantage.
Your success in this role will rely on your ability to review and digest a large amount of customer and industry information and produce succinct credit submissions. In addition, you will need to have strong advocacy skills and be able to influence key decision makers through your demonstrated understanding of both deal specific and industry risks.
