Reporting to the
_Portfolio Insights Manager_, you will be responsible for providing and producing effective reporting, insights and analysis to stakeholders that support regulatory and portfolio management functions to meet governance frameworks and compliance obligations.

Using your experience in complex analysis skills you’ll be anticipating, identifying, and mitigating risk exposure for the Bank. You’ll be creating and enhancing internal and/or external regulatory risk management reports to understand risk exposures and track key trends, analysing and communicating your findings back to the business. You will be relied upon for your support of management initiatives and your ability to identify value-add opportunities. This is a highly collaborative role with exposure to the wider risk insights team, Australia, and other departments internally.

As a Senior Risk Analyst in Portfolio Insights team, you will be expected to collaborate with other team members and wider risk team to:

- Create and enhance risk management reports to understand risk exposures and track trends
- Monitor performance across all customer lifecycle stages, identifying emerging trends, risks and opportunities
- Perform data analysis to support risk management initiatives and validate hypotheses
- Provide ad hoc analytical support to the wider business
- Document workflows, share ideas and implement improvements to drive progress across the team
- Mentor junior analysts, transferring quantitative and qualitative analytical expertise
- Drive the maturation of data management and analytics capabilities in the team
- Collaborate with Risk Analytics colleagues and other Westpac departments (e.g. Product Management, Customer Insights, Collections and Fraud) to identify and implement business opportunities

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
- 5+ years’ experience with applied quantitative analysis, data manipulation and reporting
- 5+ years’ experience in Credit Risk or the Finance Industry
- Strong SAS (Enterprise Guide) and/or SQL computer language experience, including ability to query and manipulate large data (essential)
- Knowledge of Credit products (essential)
- Outstanding report writing skills
- Preferred experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SAS Visual Analytics
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, including articulating complex analysis to non-analytical people and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Self-driven with ability to anticipate requirements
- Commitment to one team and take ownership
- A drive for industry-leading performance and constant improvement including task automation and simplification
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the business
- Undergraduate degree in a statistical, mathematical, economics or related field is preferred
